We grew up with healthy, nearly self-sufficient eating where main food came from the nature rather than from the supermarket. We met each other working in a consulting company and became the closest friends. With our shared passion for healthy life, dedication and love for yummy food, we are excited to share our knowledge and encourage others to live healthier and happier life.
Reetta is a certified raw food chef living in Sydney. Reetta’s passion for food comes from her mum, who is a chef in Finland. From a very young age, Reetta got to learn from the best - a chef that had an incredible appreciation for nature, making all meals from scratch. Reetta has spent most of her life working in the corporate world; long hours, lot's of pressure and with that stress. She realised her health and wellbeing was starting to suffer and work was often dictating her life; relationships, friendships and the things she would like to do. She was suffering from fatigue, stress and regular stomach problems – and thought that was normal and you just needed to get on with it.
However, in 2013 Reetta discovered rawfood and non-processed meals and started slowly making some changes to her diet. She also started a regular yoga practice and after six months was able to see significant improvements in her life. Through the healthy diet and overall care she put to her body and mind, she was able to completely get rid of the fatigue, stress and stomach problems she suffered with. She still works in the corporate world, but has a completely different way of approaching and managing it. She has been able to adopt a very healthy and nourishing diet with dishes and a routine that doesn’t take much time to prepare. She follows this throughout the week – and occasionally indulges on other treats on the weekends (it’s hard to let go of everything!). Reetta has achieved a balance in her life that she never thought was possible alongside busy urban living.
Since 2014 she has been sharing her journey, knowledge, skills and the simple ways of preparing incredibly tasty and healthy food with others. She has helped others to achieve a healthy work life balance, taught the easy and more advanced techniques of raw and wholefoods, shared numerous tips on how to slowly start changing one's diet from shopping to storing food and doing things with a small time investment, and she has catered events with nutritious tasty food instead of the typical "western diet foods" whilst sharing her knowledge and passion. Reetta’s passion for healthy food and balance in life is contagious.
“It can be done – and it’s easy!” – Reetta
Wiebke believes passionately in the healing power of food & yoga, how together they can create balance and strength in both the body & mind and ultimately help you live a healthier, happier life.
This belief and passion is born out of Wiebke’s own journey of transformation. A journey that started with yoga in 1995 and has since then become a big part of her life. When she started working full time in corporate her yoga practice began to take on a deeper meaning. Stepping on the mat was the part of the day when Wiebke felt balanced and truly connected. Yoga was a way for her to find stillness and release from the frantic pace of the corporate lifestyle.
As a trained psychologist Wiebke was on the fast track, holding down a high-flying corporate job, working long hours, stressed, working to tight deadlines and trying to make time for yoga, her health and wellbeing “on the side” which lead eventually to more stress. Predictably, this all together lead to burn out which prompted her to take time out volunteering at an organic health retreat in Queensland, supporting a team of exceptional holistic mind and body work practitioners. This experience provided her with the opportunity to gain a deeper knowledge about health, wellness and nutrition; to experience first hand the benefits of exchanging the crutches of sugar, coffee and processed food for nourishing whole, raw foods; it also allowed her to connect deeply with people living from their purpose.
This was a life changing experience for Wiebke and she desired to follow her heart and to live a life she loves. She quit her corporate job and became a Yoga Alliance qualified Yoga teacher and teaches at some of Sydney’s most well-respected, well-known yoga studios. She also teaches on retreats, most recently for young adult cancer survivors in Byron Bay.
In 2015 she partnered with her friend Reetta to create Pure Cooking as a complement to her yoga teaching with the purpose of bringing the healing power of yoga and food together in order to empower people to reconnect with their true self.
“My goal as a yoga teacher & health advocate comes down to two things - To Inspire and to share my passion. Yoga and organic whole food have truly changed my life and I enjoy nothing more than sharing this enthusiasm and joy of yoga & food with others to help them to do the same”
